Status: Demo Complete

Quiet Fields is a 3D Stealth demo project in which an escaped research subject must flee from the compound hunting her down. The objective is to use tree cover to avoid detection and find safety at the nearby town.

Travel and sneak through a field of flowers and trees to avoid being recaptured by the Ghost Company, a secret organization experimenting on separating human spirits from their bodies. In this stealth game, you must become one with the environment to avoid pursuing agents and use the environment to sabotage agents. Reach the local village to escape.

My Roles

C# Developer - I acted as sole C# developer for this project, designing the enemy vision and response, the player movement, and the environmental camouflage systems.

Unity Developer - I used Unity's 3D engine to develop this game, using open-source assets and built-in functionality like prefabs and custom components to build the level design and mechanics.

Player Controller Developer - I worked on a custom player controller suited for the stealth mechanic needs of the playable character, such that the player could move, crouch, and have their visibility determined by their collision with zones of cover.

Enemy AI Developer - I designed simple stealth enemies that would pursue the player's target direction and focus on and capture the player if discovered by their vision.

UI/UX Designer - I implemented UI/HUD elements to the game including a goal directional arrow, level completion slider, and camouflage indicator.

Game Designer - I designed this game with inspiration from the Metal Gear series to create a suspenseful, active, and focused stealth system in an outdoor environment.

Skills Advanced

C# - I improved my ability to create behavior state machines as demonstrated with the enemy vision and camouflage mechanics.

Unity Engine - I improved my experience creating custom components and organizing my game project and hierarchy based on similar game objects.

User Interfaces and User Experience Design - I improved my ability to create useful UI for the player that existed in either local space or screen space, as well as their connection to gameplay variables.
